MBE, WBE, and SBA 8(a) Certification

Let The Chaplin Group help with filing for certification as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), a Woman Owned Minority Business Enterprise (MWB), or obtain U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) Cerfication.

Being minority business and/or 8(a) certified can offer several advantages, including:

  1. Access to Funding: Many grants, loans, and investment opportunities are specifically reserved for minority-owned businesses, helping with financial support.
  2. Networking Opportunities: Certification often provides access to exclusive networking events, workshops, and mentorship programs that can connect you with other minority business owners and potential clients.
  3. Government Contracts: Many government agencies have goals for contracting with minority-owned businesses, providing opportunities for bids on contracts that you might not otherwise have access to.
  4. Visibility and Marketing: Certification can enhance your business's credibility and visibility, making it more appealing to customers who prioritize diversity and inclusion in their purchasing decisions.
  5. Business Development Resources: Certified businesses may gain access to specialized training, resources, and support tailored to the unique challenges faced by minority entrepreneurs.
  6. Diversity Goals: Many large corporations have diversity initiatives that include working with minority-owned businesses, increasing your chances of securing corporate contracts.
  7. Competitive Edge: Being certified can differentiate your business in a competitive marketplace, appealing to clients looking to support minority-owned enterprises.

Overall, minority business certification can provide valuable tools and resources to help grow and sustain your business.

An MBE is a for-profit business that is at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled a member or members of a qualified minority group. An “MBE certified business” is 51% owned, managed and controlled by a minority or group of minorities, and verified by an MBE certifying agency.

Above all else, the MBE Certification will make your business more appealing to State, Local, and Municipal agencies. It also gives firms access to purchasing networks that otherwise cannot be utilized.
